Ann Ciriello, 91, passed away on July 29, 2022 at Atlanticare in Atlantic City.
She was born in Montclair to the late William and Philomena (McEnery) Carragher and has been living in Lincroft for the last six years.
Ann worked for 42 years as a nurse for St. James Hospital in Newark and she was a former Eucharistic minister and lector at Mt. Carmel RC Church in Nutley. As of late, she was a communicant of St. Leo the Great RC Church in Lincroft.
She had many interests such as reading and taking her chances on the slots in Atlantic City. She will be remembered for her quick wit, being a social butterfly and her love of family and friends, who will miss her deeply.
Ann is predeceased by her parents; her husband, Michael T. Ciriello and her five siblings.
She leaves behind her two children and their spouses: Glen and Mary Pogue II of DE and Michael and Berlinda Gilroy of Middletown as well as her four sisters and their spouses: Marie and Dave Gould of Jackson, Alice and Jack Paris of FL, Eileen Passeri of Parsippany and Elaine and Bob Stevens of PA; her grandchildren and their spouses: Glen and Karen Pogue II of OR, Sean Gilroy of Brick and Brendan and Kelly Gilroy of Keansburg and great grandchildren: Bradley and Isaac Pogue and Ellie and Melissa Gilroy.
Visitation will take place on Thurs., Aug. 4th from 4 to 8pm at the John E. Day Funeral Home 85 Riverside Ave. Red Bank, NJ 07701. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Fri., Aug 5th 10:15am at St. Leo the Great RC Church, 50 Hurley’s Lane, Lincroft. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are encouraged to Good Counsel Home, 303 Madison Street Hoboken, NJ 07030.
