Angelo F. Merlino, 74, of Shrewsbury passed away Monday, August 13th with his family by his side. He was born in Brooklyn, NY to the late Joseph and Stella Merlino.
Angelo was the owner of the Bagel Station here in Red Bank and also in Spring Lake Heights. He was an avid animal lover and enjoyed going to the Monmouth Race Track, but most of all he was a man who relished his time with his family. Angelo was a sweet, gentle soul and will be missed by many.
He is predeceased by his sister Rosalie and sister-in-law Elena Merlino. Surviving are his beloved wife of 47 years, Jacquelin (nee: Gorra), his loving sons Joseph and David, his dear brother Edward and his nephew AJ Merlino.
A life celebration will be Thursday, August 16th from 2:00 – 4:00 pm and 7:00 – 9:00 pm at the John E. Day Funeral Home 85 Riverside Ave. Red Bank, NJ 07701 with a 9:45 am Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, August 17th at St. James R.C. Ch. 94 Broad St. Red Bank, NJ and entombment following at Woodbridge Memorial Gardens Cemetery Rt. 1 North Woodbridge, NJ.
