Angela Zeigler

Red Bank and Clifton - Angela (Colome) Zeigler, a long-time resident of both Red Bank and Clifton NJ, passed away peacefully Tuesday, May 26, 2020 at Brandywine Living at The Sycamore in Shrewsbury, NJ.

“Tia” Lita, to her many nieces (grand/great grand-nieces) and nephews (grand/great grandnephews) and Angie to her friends, was born and raised in San Jose de Las Lajas, a small town of Cuba on November 29, 1924.  She lived in Cuba for most of her childhood years before immigrating to the US in 1948 to be with her family.

Tia Lita was a strong, hardworking, caring, and remarkable Aunt who never missed a birthday phone call and embraced every opportunity to participate in family functions.   Family was always and ever will be “Tia Lita’s” true love and priority.  Everyone knew “Tia Lita” - she was the life of every family party and lite up the room with her smile or funny joke.  

She worked tirelessly creating beautiful, high end embroidered baby gowns and caps for all her family members then later took that talent and started to donate her beautiful handmade blankets and night caps to the Riverview Medical Center neonatal department.

Angela is survived by her many nieces and nephews: Rosa Bacque (Jacque, Jean-Paul, Anna and Rosa), Maria and Howard Johnson (Jacqueline, Aleida, and Howard Jr), Aleida and Juan Bueno (Juan, Michelle, and Suzanna), Glen Quesada (Shelly, Glenn Jr., Sheryld and Stephen), Ali and Marshall Wilharm (David) & Jerry and Barbara Brager (Adam) as well as many great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews all of which brought joy to her life.

A private celebration of her life is scheduled for June 1, 2020 at the John Day Funeral Home in Red Bank. A graveside ceremony will then follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Middletown.
