Ada Valenti (nee Rossi) 95, of Shrewsbury passed away peacefully on Saturday June 2nd.
She was born in Caldarola, Italy on Sept 9, to Evasio and Lucy Rossi, emigrating from Italy to this country when she was six. The family resided in Newark.
Her working life began at the Lionel Train factory in Irvington NJ where she met life-long friend Jennie Valenti who introduced her to her brother, Sal (Bartolo) whom she would later marry. Together they raised their daughters Vita and LuAnn, in Union, NJ.
Retiring first to Toms River she ultimately returned to Monmouth County and resided in Shady Oaks before moving to Shrewsbury and was a parishioner of St. Catharine’s in Holmdel.
Her happiness in life was spending time with her family who will miss her dearly. Ada was an excellent cook and seamstress who created beautiful clothing for herself and daughters.
Surviving are her daughter Vita and son-in-law George Kolber of Locust. Also surviving are her cherished grandchildren Lisa Hutchings and Rick Kolber; and the light of her life Sloane Isabella Hutchings; many nieces and nephews and her sister-in-law Jennie Mazza, Clearwater Fl.
Visitation will be held at John E. Day Funeral Home on Monday, June 4th from 4-8pm. A Mass of Christian Burial Will be held at St. Catharine's Roman Catholic Church, Holmdel on Tuesday, June 5th at 9:30 AM. Interment will be private.
