William Edward McSorley, 74, a resident of Red Bank for over 45 years, passed away after a brief illness, on Monday, April 1, 2024. William was born in Red Bank to Edward W. and Margaret (Phelan) McSorley.
He was a graduate of Rumson Fair Haven High School (1967) and Lincoln Tech School, a longtime communicant of St. James RC Church in Red Bank and an Exempt Member with 50 years of service for Rumson Volunteer Fire Company.
William proudly served our country in the Army Reserves retiring as a Sergeant Major.
Later, he retired as a Service Advisor for Red Bank Volvo, where he spent a majority of his career.
William was predeceased by his parents and in 1997 by his beloved wife of 21 years Holly Wilson McSorley.
He is survived by his Children; Patrick (Christine) McSorley of Oceanport and Marissa (Jason) Smith of Neptune City, Siblings; Gerard (Susan) McSorley of Atlantic Highlands and Ellen McSorley of Eatontown, his loving Grandchildren; Colin Thomas and Evan Wilson McSorley and Jack Wilson and Casey Lynn Smith; and Nieces and Nephews; Trista (Denis) Higgins, Erin (James) Koempel, and Daniel McSorley
Family and friends may visit on Fri., April 5th from 4-8pm at the John E. Day Funeral Home, 85 Riverside Ave., Red Bank, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Sat., April 6th, 10am, at St. James RC Church in Red Bank. Burial will follow at Fair View Cemetery, Middletown, NJ.
