Theresa J. Gambacorta, born June 7 1933, our beloved “Grammy,” devoted family woman, proud grandmother and great grandmother, passed away with her family and caretakers Lilly and Jeanne by her side on Saturday, April 13, 2024. Theresa was predeceased by her parents Mary and Theresa Ferraro (nee Amato) and James Ferraro as well as her loving husband of 68 years, Thomas Gambacorta and her loving daughter Donna Gambacorta Hakim. She is survived by her daughter, Deidre Baker and her significant other: Mark Veltre. As well as her son in law Matthew Hakim; her blessed granddaughters: Dana Corcoran and her husband Colin, and Isabella and Lilliana Hakim; her great granddaughter and namesake Daelynn Poppy; sisters, Mary Ferrogine, Esther Lauer, Nancy Russell, and brother James Ferraro; brothers-in-law: Dominic "Chubby" Gambacorto (Janet) and Guy Gambacorto; sisters-in-law: Pauline Gambacorto and Joann Richardson in addition to many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Theresa grew up in Red Bank, NJ where she met her husband Thomas. They both attended Red Bank High School and after she worked as a secretary at Fort Monmouth, NJ. At work she was known as “Terry,” everyone loved.

Theresa adored her granddaughters and attended Dana’s dance competitions and recitals, football games where she cheered, and every Halloween costume parade and school event. Both her and Thomas never missed an event they even attended many of Dana’s close friends parties and weddings. She attended Isabella’s football games and cheer competitions and Lilliana’s barrel races, as well as countless soccer games, school shows and the Miss Delaware pageants that Isabella and Lilliana participated in as Little Sisters.

Being with family and friends is what mattered most to Theresa, she loved getting her hair and nails done, the belle of the ball!

Theresa will be remembered for her huge, kind heart and ability to make people laugh. We were all blessed to have a little firecracker nugget like her.
