I was looking back at our texts, I thought this part of what he sent shows some of what Santa was all about "Amp will be there. I have posted it several times. Event page is coming out probably tomorrow. Santa is shopping for a new Santa Belt today and entertaining grand kids. And Doctor at 4:45. AND making dinner so I heard! Retirement/disability is HARD! Lol." It's a harsh reality that he will not be physically around to make us smile but we can still go to our memories and pictures for that.

One of his last texts to me was of his brand new baby grand daughter, who he was sooooo excited over that he sent the birth details to me about 1 minute after she was born. :) Santa was a good friend to many and he brought joy, magic, silliness and laughter to our lives. What wonderful man, with a heart of gold. I am deeply saddened by the loss of my friend Ray Tiley. I can only say how lucky, grateful, and blessed I have been to have shared time, played music together, and witnessed his selfless and charitable giving to others. My life has been touched by him. He introduced me to many new friends. I learned from Ray from his giving and kindness. I hope to take that from Ray and apply it within my own life. I witnessed Ray help others, and for that he will always have one of the most special places in my heart set aside for him. RIP my friend. I am so saddened for now, yet so happy to know him.

Ray was a lifelong friend of mine..Since elementary school we were friends. High school started our music, partying and trying to mature. If Ray wasn't playing guitar, he was recording his friends playing. Once, when we were in our 40's Ray ran away from home and came down to South Florida where I lived at the time. I held on to him until his sister Teri sent him an airline ticket.
