Patricia Ann Sowley

May 12, 1935 ~ March 28, 2024 (age 88) 88 Years Old

Tribute

The beautiful soul of Patricia Ann Sowley was called home to the Lord on March 28, 2024. She was born in New Brunswick, NJ to her beloved parents, Edward and Mildred Robinson.
She lived a long and full life; to know her was to love her!
Patricia obtained her certification as a Registered Nurse from St. Peter’s School of Nursing in New Brunswick, NJ in 1955. Later, to keep up with the times, she decided to go back to school and earned her Bachelors of Science in Nursing in 1986 from St. Joseph’s College of Maine.
She was someone who truly loved and cared for people. Because of that, she was extraordinarily fortunate in that her avocation and vocation were one and the same. She pursued a career as a Psychiatric Nurse at Perth Amboy General Hospital, which she enjoyed immensely. After her husband’s retirement, they moved to Vero Beach, Florida. They both managed to stay very active, and shared many wonderful years together, referring to it as “paradise”.
She had the privilege of traveling the world with her husband, yet her favorite times were spent with her loved ones, both family and friends.
Patricia was involved in helping others all her life, which included volunteering at CareNet Pregnancy Center for over 20 years, serving as a Eucharistic Minister at Holy Cross Parish in Vero Beach, and participating in the Holy Cross Women’s Guild.
She was predeceased by her best friend and husband of 55 years, Roy Sowley, as well as by her son, Roy Sowley, Jr.

Patricia is survived by her loving daughters; Donna (John) Berry and Pamela Martin, as well as her sister, Donna Barrett, and her grandchildren; Kevin (Erica)Berry, Taryn Berry, Katie Reisinger, Jill Reisinger and Ryan Berry, and her wonderful nieces and nephews.

Services were held on Sat., March 30th in NJ.
