Maureen A. Joy, 81, entered eternal rest on January 3, 2018 surrounded by the love of her life, Bud, and her loving family. Maureen was born in Newark to the late Richard Gill and Mary Dorish. Maureen’s devotion to her Catholic faith was a guiding light for her entire life. She was a shining example of one of Christ’s children, living her faith and sharing true kindness to all those around her. Maureen’s greatest joys and proudest moments revolved around the family that she and Bud built. Their marriage was filled with true love and happiness-- she was his “Irish Rose” and he was her one and only. Maureen’s four daughters were the pride of her life and she shared in so many happy moments with them as they grew and built families of their own. Her seven grandchildren brought her joy and happiness and her beautiful spirit will live in their hearts forever.
Maureen is survived by her beloved husband Morton D. Joy of 57 years, her loving daughters and their spouses Cynthia Joy and her partner Sue McClure; Tricia Joy Cundari and her husband Phil; Diane Joy Belforti and her husband Michael and Elizabeth Joy Sutphin and her husband Travis. She also leaves behind her brother James Gill and her adoring grandchildren Christina and Philip Cundari; Shannon, Corey, Morgan and Ryan Belforti; and Connor Sutphin.
