Marilyn C. DeVeaux-Callaway was born on February 16, 1935 to the late Edmund DeVeaux and Estelle Settles in Jersey City, New Jersey.

Marilyn was a Retired LPN, worked at Marlboro Psychiatric Hospital and Jersey Shore Medical Center. She was also a Foster Mother to many with the State of New Jersey for 35 years.
She received many Accolades:
The Academy of Medicine of New Jersey, National Council on the Aging Inc, State of New Jersey of Department of Human Services, Crisis Recognition Prevention and Intervention, Manchester Who’s Who, Central New Jersey Jewish Home for the Aged, Superior Court/Family Part Chancery Division, State of New Jersey Department of Human Services, Monmouth County Urban League, Jersey Shore Medial Center, Senior Safe Walk and The New Jersey State Nurses’ Association. During her retirement she volunteered with the State to assist other Seniors in Counseling and Guidance with Finances.

Marilyn departed this life on March 18, 2024 in Eatontown, New Jersey. She was preceded in death by six brothers, Edmund, Sherman, Jerome and Gerald DeVeaux, and Louis and Wesley Showers and two sisters Estelle (DeVeaux) Waters, and Frances Showers. One son Gerald Thompson Callaway

Marilyn leaves behind to cherish her memory, three daughters, Felecia(Gary ) Lawson, Mobile, Alabama, Toni (Peter) Barnes, Plainfield, New Jersey, Jocelyn Callaway, Woodbridge Virginia, one brother Gerard DeVeaux of Tinton Falls, and two sisters, Jacquelyn DeVeaux of Asbury Park and Jessie Showers Moore of Keyport. five Grandaughters, Rachel, Jasmine, Malina Barnes, Plainfield, New Jersey, Cherrelle McDonald, Gulfport, Mississippi, Jamila Callaway, Woodbridge, Virginia, Three Grandsons, William Callaway and Rashad Norris, Woodbridge Virginia, James Snead, Mobile Alabama and seven Great- Grand Children, one Godson Louis Showers, Three Sister- in laws, Barbara DeVeaux of Connecticut, Clementine DeVeaux and Renee Freeman of Tinton Falls and numerous nieces and nephews and cousins.
