I just learned of Lou's passing today. I went to school with Lou from the 2nd grade right through high school. We played on the same little league and pony league baseball teams. He was always a good friend, a lot of fun and a genuinely nice guy. The last time I saw Lou we went surf fishing one evening in Long Branch. Didn't catch anything but had a great time. Rest in Peace, big guy.

Our last memories of Lou was the fun side at our Nephew's wedding in NY.
Those are the times we will remember with Lou.

God Bless Lou and his family. We are sorry for your loss.

This man made such an impact in my life. He was my football coach for 3 years and my algebra teacher. He taught me so many life lessons that I would not be able to list them all. One of the lessons that I still believe and repeat today is "There is no such thing as luck. Luck is the crossroads between Preparation and Opportunity." If you prepare 100% everyday when you are faced with the opportunity you will succeed!!! Thank you Coach Mont for teaching me.

Mr. Montanaro coached me in wrestling and always encouraged me to do my best. His enthusiasm and dedication inspired me to pursue a degree and teaching credential at Rutgers University which led to a forty-year career as a high school science teacher and coach. Thank you and rest in peace Coach Montanaro.

I had the greatest respect for you Mr. Montanaro. You were a great wrestling coach and were never forgotten and never will be. My senior year yearbook inscription read "If you want to do something hard enough, you can do it. Montanaro". In loving memory, Ed McGittigan, Class of 1970.

So very sad to have read of Louie's passing. We grew up together, actually lived on the next street. A fun guy to be around and had lots of fun and many long conversations during our grade school and high school years. It was such a pleasure to see Louie at our 50th class reunion, a lot of catching up. May you Rest In Peace and I will cherish the great memories of our school years! Sincere and heartfelt sympathy to Carl and family. Joan Williamson Madison

Butch, I will always remember all the wonderful happy times we all had on our farm in Hazlet. Your funny pranks were always getting all of us cousins in trouble. We all had great times playing those Sunday afternoon softball games on our farm. Our parents(your Aunt Anna and Uncle Jerry) loved you like a son and we all loved you like a brother. We will miss you always. Love Perky
