💔

— You Don’t Just Lose Someone Once —
You lose them over and over,
sometimes many times a day.
When the loss, momentarily forgotten,
creeps up,
and attacks you from behind.
Fresh waves of grief as the realisation hits home,
they are gone.
Again.

You don’t just lose someone once,
you lose them every time you open your eyes to a new dawn,
and as you awaken,
so does your memory,
so does the jolting bolt of lightning that rips into your heart,
they are gone.
Again.

Losing someone is a journey,
not a one-off.
There is no end to the loss,
there is only a learned skill on how to stay afloat,
when it washes over.

Be kind to those who are sailing this stormy sea,
they have a journey ahead of them,
and a daily shock to the system each time they realise,
they are gone,
Again.

You don’t just lose someone once,
you lose them every day,
for a lifetime.

So sorry to read of a Mom's/Grandmom's passing; that is always hard! You each will miss her in a different(but equally important and valid) way and remember so many things, you'll be surprised. Take a day at a time; clarification: minute at a time. The Lord WILL get you through. The Holy Spirit is a mighty comfort. And never forget Jesus loves you(all). See you at ALCOG soon! Will be praying.

Lin,

Ever since I heard the news of your passing, I can't stop thinking about you and all the times we had while working together. You were like a mother to me and you always made sure to tell my mom that I was your "daughter." You would always share stories about and photos of your kids and grandchildren and everyone could just see what a proud and loving mother/grandmother you were. It breaks my heart to think that we won't be able to get together like we spoke about in May, but I am sure one day I will see you again. May you rest in eternal peace.

Love,
Lauren

Peace be with you my beautiful cousin. I hadn't seen you in years but I always thought I would. Every time we did see each other through the years, we both knew we would have a fun and loving time. I loved your spirit and the woman and mother you had become. Rest in peace cousin Linda, the peace you always searched for. Love, Janie

My beautiful cousin, there are no words to express how I feel. A void in my heart that can never be replaced. I will miss all the times we were together. I just can't believe you are gone. RIP. I love you❤️️
