Helen Swenson Litts

Helen Swenson Litts 84, peacefully passed away on December 28, 2017. She was the loving wife of William B. Litts. Together they shared 63 years of marriage. Born in Rumson, Helen was the daughter of the late Frederick Swenson and Anna (Petren).

Helen was a resident of Ocean Township for 55 years where she lived a very full and active life. She was a member of St. Mary’s R. C. Church in Deal - serving as a Eucharistic Minister. In addition, she belonged to the Ocean Township Garden Club and Historical Museum. Helen enjoyed being with family and friends, playing tennis, traveling, and walking along the beaches.

Helen graduated Rumson High School in 1951 and Katharine Gibbs School in NYC in 1953. She worked for Bendix Corporation, The Stuart School of Business, and later, Monmouth Medical Center.

Helen was predeceased by her brother Frederick “Skippy” Swenson. She leaves to cherish her memory her loving children and their spouses: Alan W. Litts and Michele of Medina, MN; Lorraine E. Rosato and Gary of Jackson; and Dale A. Heird of York, PA; eight grandchildren: Chloe, Alexander and Nathaniel; Kimberly and James Cathers; William, Jonathan, Andrew and Grace; her sister Doris Moraller of Fair Haven and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at the John E. Day Funeral Home, 85 Riverside Avenue, Red Bank, NJ 07701 on Tuesday January 2, 2018 from 4-8 PM. A funeral home service will take place on Wednesday January 3, 2018 at 11 AM, followed by a burial at Fairview Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent in Helen’s memory to Riverview Medical Cancer Foundation, 1340 Campus Pkwy, Suite C4, Neptune, NJ. 07753.
