Frances T. Allegra

Frances T. Allegra, of Shrewsbury, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, September 23. She was born in Bronx, NY to the late Joseph and Anne (Abramo) Ponepinto in July 6, 1924.

Frances worked as a bookkeeper and secretary for 20 years before retiring.
She was a communicant at St. Anthony’s, and a member of St. Anne’s Society.
An avid participant of Country Western Dancing, she was always the first one out the door to go and have a good time.
Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family.

Frances is predeceased by her husband Nunzio C. Allegra, her son John Allegra, and her brother Joseph Ponepinto.
Surviving are her two daughters: Concetta and her husband George Baine from Point Pleasant, and Joanne Pagano and her husband Edward Taxin from Shrewsbury; her sister Gloria Morea of Spring Hill, Florida; her three grandchildren: Alicia, Matthew, and Justin; and her three great-grandchildren: Sara, Patrick, and Shamus.

Services will be handled by John Day Funeral Home, Red Bank. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place Wednesday, September 27, at St. Anthony’s of Padua Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank at 10AM. Woodbine Burial details are to be announced.
