Doreen M. DuPont

Doreen DuPont 44, of Red Bank passed away on March 24, 2017 surrounded by her family after a long and determined battle with breast cancer. She was born in New York City in Hell’s Kitchen and grew up in Middletown.

Doreen earned her BA in Social Work from Kean University. She worked with Alzheimer patients as a social worker following graduation and truly loved her work!!!! After the twins were born in 2007 Doreen committed herself to a full time mom, she was a cheerleader for her kids sports, teacher of homework and a dance mom.

Doreen was predeceased by her father Richard Welton, her grandmama Josephine Mangino Stack and her father-in-law Arnold R. Dupont. She is survived by her loving husband, Michael R. DuPont and her three loving children Allison, twins Daniel and Olivia. Also, surviving is her mother Cathy Welton(Stack); her mother-in-law Doris DuPont; her brother and sister in law Rich and Kerri Welton and her nephew and neice Richie and Gabby.

A special thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff at Riverview Hospital who treated her during her many surgeries and chemotherapy treatments. Also, a thank you to all of her girlfriends and school moms who dropped off food, took kids to school, and would sit with Doreen during and after treatments. Your endless supply of love, friendship and white wine allowed Doreen to continue to fight and our family to survive and grow. Finally, a special thanks to Meridian at home hospice who helped our family endure these past few weeks with grace, dignity and humility to reach the end of her journey.

Visitation will take place at the John E. Day Funeral Home 85 Riverside Avenue Red Bank, NJ 07701 on Sunday March 26, 2017 from 2 - 4 PM and 6 - 8 PM. A Mass of Christian burial will take place at St. James RC Church in Red Bank on Monday March 27, 2017 at 10 AM. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Middletown.
