Dearest Michael, Rina & Joe: From my heart, these are my special memories of Daniel -
Daniel: Thank you so very much for the wonderful, fun memories. I was so excited when your parents moved to Jersey because I finally had my family here. I still remember when your mother told me you were going into kindergarten & I knew I had to do something, so I decided to take you to Chuck E Cheese & Merrill Park. Every year I made it a tradition, we were going to do something before school started. Joey was getting older, so I included him. We went to the Rainforest Cafe & Macaroni Grill in the years to come along with Merrill Park. When you guys moved to Lincroft, we went to Thompson Park and then out to eat. Then we started to go big time-you and Joey were getting older so we hit Manhattan for an all day insane walking extravaganza day trip where we met up with Aunt Barbarann, Uncle Mike, Chris & Greg and even Uncle Steve & Charlotte. One of the highlights of the day was the Charmin exhibit where we all made a potty stop and got to see the Charmin Bears & we danced. By the end of this day, we went to Mars 2120 Restaurant and saw the aliens. Even though I was completely exhausted, you guys were still full of energy and were playing your video games. Now you are with Great Grandma and Great Grandpa - hopefully you won't be hearing them saying "What Goes On Here"!! Thanks for all the laughter. Love you, Aunt Maryann

Rina and Mike,

We cannot imagine the pain you are all going through. Your world has been shattered, and there will always be a hole in your hearts that only Dan can fill. Life will be different. You won't take anything for granted. You will hug each other, and Joseph, a little tighter. We hope and pray that you can find moments of joy in unexpected places.

Dan spent a lot of time at our house, and we have such fond memories of his charisma, and the ease with which he was able to get along with everyone and anyone. He always had a smile on his face, a kind word, a great sense of humor and a keen intellect. He will be missed.

No one is prepared to lose a child. It's just not the natural order of things. As parents, we care more about our children than life itself. May you take one day at a time, and may God grant you the serenity to accept the things you cannot change, the courage to change the things you can, and the wisdom to know the difference.
