Claire S. Scales

Claire Ippolito Scales 85, formerly of Middletown, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 14, 2017 with her family at her side. Claire was born in Brooklyn, NY and later met her Husband Bob on Governors Island, NY where they both worked. Claire enjoyed many careers thereafter, including Real Estate, the welfare board and her most treasured dedicated position as the Aide to NJ State Senator, Richard Van Wagner. After many years in the shore area, they retired to Greenbriar Woodlands in Toms River and spent winters in Jensen Beach Fl. After Bob’s passing Claire settled at Seabrook Village, Tinton Falls, NJ.

Claire was pre-deceased by her husband of 51 years Robert E and their Sons, Michael A, Robert J and his wife Susie (Wyatt). Her sisters, Mary, Josephine, Ann, Mildred & Ruth

Claire is survived by her son Jeff and his wife Patty of Middletown, NJ, their sons Robert and his wife Tara, Stephen & Jordan; two Great- Grandchildren Victoria & Jake. Also, her son Doug of Middletown and a daughter in-law, Jacklyn Skinner-Scales of Ocean, and their children, Michael & Christopher & his wife Emily and Doug’s younger son Doug and daughter Emma. Also surviving are her Brother in-laws’ John Scales & Michael Ricciardone.

Visitation will take place at John E. Day Funeral Home, Red Bank NJ from 4-8pm on Sunday, September 17, 2017. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10:15am, Monday, September 18, 2017 at St. Leo the Great R.C.Ch. 50 Hurley’s Lane Lincroft, NJ, with interment immediately following at Fairview Cemetery in Middletown.
