Alan Paul Greenleaf, 72 of Navesink, passed away on March 24th. Alan was born in Teaneck, New Jersey to Richard and Marie, where he enjoyed his time growing up on Lake Erskine. Alan eventually moved to Monmouth County where he would graduate from Middletown High School in 1969. His love of restoring Model A Fords and playing ice hockey provided him a wide circle of friends in the area. He met the love of his life Nancy in 1975 and in the 48 years since they have been inseparable. Together they raised six children and delighted in the arrival of seven grandchildren. Alan retired in 2012 from a career as a longshoreman mechanic at Port Newark and enjoyed the last decade taking pride in his large family, traveling with Nancy, restoring Model A’s, and watching the New York Rangers with his many beloved dogs. Alan’s ability to fix almost anything, sense of humor, unwavering loyalty, and his generosity to friends and family will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife Nancy; sons Paul (Madeleine), Taylor (Melanie), Matthew, and Luke (Aubrey); daughters Maggie and Kaylee; grandchildren Zachary, Karston, Xavier, Lainey, Valarik, Marion, and Samuel; his sister Diane Kragh; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Sharon and Harry Rarig; many nieces and nephews; and his beloved black lab Ada Blue. He is predeceased by his parents Richard and Marie.
Burial will be private with a public memorial service on April 6th at 2pm at Lincroft Bible Church.
