Obituary of Eleanor Barton
Eleanor went home to be with Christ and her daughter Elaine on November 23, 2015. She was born April 18, 1920 in New York City and was pre-deceased by her parents Anna Taylor Barton and Martin J. Concannon and a daughter Elaine Patricia Barton (2005). She is survived by her beloved husband of 69 years, Bernard J Barton; daughter Maureen Barton Williamson and husband Raymond; son Brian J. Barton and wife Lynne Mento Barton; grandchildren Julie Barton, Alyson Barton, Raymond Williamson, Jr. and wife Joleen Lerner Williamson, Robert Williamson and Victoria Williamson; Michelle Williamson Conover and husband Jeffrey Conover plus six great grandchildren, Jamie, Trevor, Megan, Brandon, Kevin and Morgan.
Eleanor and Bernard moved from their first home in Long Island to Apple Farm Rd in Middletown, NJ in 1948 and resided there until moving to Seabrook Village at Tinton Falls in 2002.
Eleanor loved the beach and was a member of Ship Ahoy Beach Club in Sea Bright for over 60 years. Besides her family she especially loved her Rose gardens and her yearly spring vacation to St. Simon’s Island, Georgia. As our beloved Matriarch, she is sorely missed by her family and by all those who knew her.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 24, 2015 from 4:30 – 8:30 p.m. at the John E. Day Funeral Home, 85 Riverside Ave., Red Bank, NJ 07701. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Chapel, 26 Leonardville Rd., New Monmouth, NJ 07718 on Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Fairview Mausoleum, Middletown.
